We hope to add more destinations soon for you to discover a range of LA’s best in bites, walks, and other wanderings. We love LA, and want to continue sharing this special place with you!

It’s a CONTEST!!! And the prize is an original drawing by Baseman!!!

From Friday, 2/27/26, through Sunday, 3/8/26, Gary Baseman invites you to visit ten of his favorite spots in Los Angeles.

CONTEST ENDS Sunday, 3/8/28 at 11:59pm. Please note the venues list will stay live at the link HERE, so even if you don’t compete or win an original drawing, you could still taste the LA that Baseman loves after March 8th.

In celebration of his hometown and its mix of wonderfulness, Baseman wants you to re/fall in love with LA. We offer you LA and its sun, its unique venues and varied vibes. Go explore, and tell us about it! And then maybe you’ll get some free art out of it. Amazing, right?

• Visit as many places as you can from the list in any order.
• Check in while you’re at each place and share your impressions. Each check-in improves your chances to win!

Note: You do not have to spend money at any of these places. As long as the location appears on your smartphone, you can check in. If you’re game to participate, your task is to write something compelling, honest, and heartfelt that describes your experience at each location.

We encourage you to feel and absorb each place as deeply as Gary does. Take your time, draw, write. Take your friends and family. Have them offer their impressions, too.

If you get food, savor every ingredient, reflect on where the food came from, take in the place and people around you.

If you visit a natural setting, listen out for the birds and feel the breeze. What do you notice? What do you wonder?

Winners will be announced and notified in March.

The GRAND PRIZE is an ORIGINAL drawing about your favorite of the 10 locations, MADE ESPECIALLY FOR YOU!

The RUNNER-UP PRIZE is the Blackie the Cat drawing below titled Ready to Eat.
