DAMN YOU ALL!!!

With all the craziness going on in the world, this felt like the right thing to post.

I’m juggling a lot of things professionally & personally, and so concerned what is happening in our nation & world, but trying to stay productive and surround myself with positive energy & love.

This painting was made after my cat, Stubby, was killed by a car a couple decades ago. And all I could think at the time was “damn you all.”

I’m so grateful for my two new lil kittens, my fur family around me and especially @lulasphinx

My kittens are starting to check out MIRACLE MILE near @lacma & @academymuseum & we took them to our neighborhood Japanese ramen joint @lakiramen !
The perfect combo of delicious & really cute signage and design! And everyone is really friendly, which is important especially now during these trying times!

WELCOME BEVERLY & FAIRFAX🐈‍⬛❤️🐈‍⬛

The Spirits of Blackie the Cat & Bosko brought me these two black kittens, a girl & a boy!!!

They were originally part of the FAB FIVE that @lulasphinx & I fostered for a month for @luxepaws .

After the tragedy of losing Bosko, the image of adopting two boys came into my head when it was the right time, so they could keep each other company.

But the spirits had a slightly different plan for me. Beverly, whose original name was Dahlia (which I still like) would always be the first to follow me, the first to jump on me and the first to purr!
I knew then I’d be adopting a girl. Fairfax seemed to follow his sister and loved to climb and play!
All of the Fab Five won my heart, but I couldn’t keep all five.

@lulasphinx came up with these kitty names, knowing how how important and personal they were to me. Beverly & Fairfax is a special street corner in the Fairfax District where I grew up, I went to Fairfax High, and Beverly is not just a boulevard but it’s the name of my favorite cousin, who I lost to cancer.

I’m excited and curious to where Lil Beverly & Lil Fairfax will take us !! They will study the Gospel of Blackie the Cat, and adventures of Bosko!

So please give them a warm welcome!

All of these babies have found homes thanks to @vera_duffy & @lolitamatsui

I needed to commemorate these 5 special kittens in my new sketchbook!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, DAD!
And today is also my Parent’s Wedding Anniversary!

I miss my parents everyday but they live deep in my heart.
They have an extraordinary LOVE STORY that occurred during the most HORRIFIC times of the 20th Century.

My Mother and Father first met at the end of WWII. They got married at the Linz-Bindermichel displacement camp in Austria, after surviving such unbelievable loss during the Holocaust. After both sets of my parent’s parents where murdered, and both their towns systematically mass murdered, they found LOVE, and were married for 63 years till my father passed.

They were immigrants who lost everything but found each other, and built a new life here in American and raised their children with a dream. The only reason America was great is because they accepted hard working immigrants into the fabric of this nation like my parents.❤️

My parents were immigrants who survived one of the most horrific events in mankind and was able to create a new life here in America.
249 years ago, the US kicked out their last king. Until recently, America represented Democracy and Freedom around the world. America represented Hope. As it says on the Statue of Liberty, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”

Remembering BOSKO!

Today is the 6th month anniversary of the tragic passing of my Bosko.
He died on FRIDAY the 13th, December 2024. And this 6 month Anniversay just happens to also land on Friday the 13th!!!

So much has changed in the last 6 months. The spirit of Bosko & Blackie brought me many things, especially having me foster these 5 black kittens for the past month.

Remembering how special the World’s Greatest Flying Cat was.

With all the tension in this country, let’s try to hear the beautiful music of the past, and groove to the hope of peace & love!

This painting is titled “Disko Jockey,” 40.6 x 50.8 cm, Acrylic on canvas

Disko Jockey shows my rabbit Disko riding Manny Moa, a character that symbolizes those loved and lost, from my eries Memento Moa. Disko holds onto reins made of Forget-Me-Not flowers that symbolize remembrance. The moa bird represents a past long gone, and yet this image evokes a playful moment, suggesting how to ride and enjoy and appreciate the spirit of our past, and those who are gone.

This painting was recently exhibited in ART OSAKA 2025 with @megumiogitagallery in Japan!

I’m sending out positive energy and love out there.
