ENJOY OR SUFFER! There was a time when I brought

ENJOY OR SUFFER!

There was a time when I brought things down to these two categories.
Both were important in finding inspiration and expressing it through art.
Of course, everyone wants ENJOY, and the pleasure it brings, but I would notice this time was fleeting and I didn’t seem to create much.
Where SUFFER, was when I had to create something important out of the pain, so the agony was not in vain.
I still love these two paintings even though they are a quarter century old.

THE GOSPEL OF BLACKIE THE CAT!

August is usually a difficult month since 2020, when I lost the Great Blackie the Cat. Many memories trying to save him and having to accept his loss, and his ascension after his passing.

Beverly & Fairfax are taught the teachings of Blackie the Cat, just as Bosko once learned. Not as an edict, but knowledge so one can find their own true direction in life.

Being Jewish, I grew up wary of false prophets, but I know when true light shines into your world when I was fortunate to be touched by the brilliance and magic of the Blackie the Cat.

Today is the 26th Anniversary of the opening of my first solo LA Exhibition DUMB LUCK and Other Paintings About Lack of Control. This iconic image of a Bunny wanting nothing more than his Lucky Rabbit’s Foot, at the expense of losing his own leg, played a big role in my early painting and Urban Vinyl Career.

I love this city where I was born and bred, and this year we have gone through so many challenges. This drawing depicts my beloved Bosko cat who I lost at the end of 2024, and after the early 2025 fires, Bosko raises like the phoenix blowing our Los Angeles a LOVE BUBBLE!
